Biography

Following his initial job with the Fremont, California, heavy/highway firm Grade-Way Construction, Brent returned to Tualatin in 1988 to form his own company, Kerr Contractors, Inc., a full-service excavation, grading and utility contractor operating in Oregon, Washington, and California. Projects include construction of pipelines along Oregon Highways 26 and 47, highway construction in Washington County, site development for Corporate America, and emergency response contracts to reopen Interstate 84 following 1996 landslides. Mr. Kerr supports the CEM program as a guest lecturer, employs CEM undergraduates as summer interns, and provides scholarships for students interested in a heavy/civil construction career.
